Access integration

Wiegand, Virtual Relays, Optex & Anti-Tailgating

The part most installers leave out: making the readers, sensors and gate operators on your site work as one system.

How RJL connects a site

Fewer separate systems. Fewer call-outs.

01

Wiegand

  • Card, fob and keypad readers
  • Most reader brands to most controllers
  • Gate operators and boom gates
  • Used across almost every RJL install
02

Virtual relays

  • Phone call opens the gate
  • Button in the MagicKeys portal or app
  • Links one system to another without extra hardware
03

Optex & anti-tailgating

  • Full Optex range supplied and installed
  • Vehicle detection and safety sensors
  • Anti-tailgating devices for gates, booms and doors

Frequently asked questions

Useful answers before you contact the team.

What is Wiegand?

The standard “language” most card readers, fob readers and keypads use to talk to a controller. Almost everything RJL installs works on Wiegand, so most brands of reader can be connected to most controllers and gate operators.

What is a virtual relay?

A switch that exists in software instead of a box on the wall. RJL uses them so a phone call opens a gate, so a button in the MagicKeys portal or app opens it, and to link one system to another, such as an Optex sensor or a Wiegand reader triggering a gate operator, without extra hardware.

Are you an Optex dealer?

RJL supplies and installs the Optex range. We do not claim to be an Optex dealer or partner.
